TERM 4
We have been having another fun-filled term in Reception. Our Topic is 'Once Upon a Time' and the children have been exploring their favourite traditional tales and some with a twist! This term has a strong focus on both reading and writing where the children can put all their Phonics learning into practice.

Spring is in the air! We were so lucky this term to be treated to two whole weeks of caring for 10 baby chicks all the way from eggs turning into mini chickens!

TERM 3
What a second term we had in Reception! Thank you all for attending our Nativity! We are all so proud of the children's performances. They did so well!
Our topic for Term 3 is ‘3, 2, 1… Blast Off!’, in which we will be thinking about the big questions, how are space and the planets different to how we live on Earth, how was the universe created and do aliens really wear underpants? There will be a strong link to Science and understanding the world around us. We will be finding out about the differences between day and night and comparing what it was like for the first astronauts who went into space and astronauts today.
On Friday 13th January we will be visited by the amazing Explorer Dome team, who will be providing us with a space filled experience which the children will find extremely interesting and fulfilling!
This term the children will not be going to Forest School, however this will resume in Term 4 going forward.
PE will continue to be on a Monday afternoon. Please can your child wear their PE Kit to school each Monday.

TERM 2
We have had a fantastic first term together in Reception and we are already ‘celebrating’ our successes and are looking forward to the ‘festivities’ ahead for Term 2! You may already have guessed that our new topic will be ‘Let’s Celebrate’. This is the time of year where many cultures and religions have all kinds of different festivities - we will be learning all about how they celebrate them.
In addition, Forest School also starts in Term 2.
Unfortunately, due to a clash with our first performance of the nativity, Pop Class will be unable to go to Forest School on November 29th. We will try to make this up at some point during the year.
PE will continue to be on a Monday afternoon. Please can your child wear their PE Kit to school each Monday.
