Welcome to our Year 2 class page!
Year Group Information
Children should bring in their book bag, coat and named water bottle every day.
PE: Please send your child in in their PE kit every Tuesday throughout the year.
Homework: Home learning activities are posted on Seesaw at the start of each term.
Spelling Shed: There are spellings on Spelling Shed for the children to practise each week.

Our Curriculum Term 4
Reading
We will be practising our retrieval and summarising skills using the texts The Rhythm of the Rain by Grahame Baker-Smith and Little People, Big Dreams David Attenborough by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara.
Writing
We will be recapping the features of stories from other cultures. We will be able to retell a traditional story from Sri Lanka. We will then practise how to write a recount. Have a look at the key vocabulary we will learn below:
Maths
Throughout the year, we are learning these strategies to help us fluently add and subtract numbers up to 20.
Science
We will be revisiting what we have learnt so far about living things and their habitats and materials.
Geography
We will practise using compass directions (North, South, East and West) and directional language to describe the location of features and routes on a map. We will look at aerial photographs and plan perspectives to recognise human and physical features. We will practise making maps using symbols in a key.
History
We are learning about the history of Bristol. We will practise putting events in chronological order.
